What is the V. I. S. T. A. Root Coverage Procedure?

V.I.S.T.A. is a surgical tunnelling technique that can be used for covering exposed roots due to gum recession.

After we use the tunnelling technique to gain access to the roots, the L-PFR membranes are used to graft the area.

L-PRF (leucyte-platelet rich fibrin) membranes are made in our office from the patient’s centrifuged blood just before performing the root coverage procedure.

Because it is an autologous grafting material the L-PRF membrane is not rejected by the patient’s body, making the procedure predictable.

The laser is used to make the surgical incisions and to make the “biological bandage”, a healing aid procedure we do after other periodontal surgeries as well.
